Short notes for buyers and QA teams.

Plain answers to the questions we are asked most often about magnesium carbonate, magnesium oxide, magnesium hydroxide and DC granules.

Reading a Rhine COA

Every batch ships with a certificate of analysis against your acceptance criteria: assay, bulk density, loss on drying, elemental impurities and foreign matter. Compare it line by line with your specifications; where a customer specification (IH) exists, the COA follows it.

Bulk density, light and heavy

Bulk density decides how a powder fills a die, a capsule or a shipping drum. Rhine controls it grade-wise across light and heavy grades, and develops custom windows against customer specifications on request.

Black particles and foreign matter

Black particle complaints are among the most common in white powders. Every Rhine stream passes in-line magnetic separators before packing, air in the filling area is filtered, and line clearance is documented batch by batch.

Elemental impurities and ICH Q3D

Vanadium, lead, arsenic, mercury, nickel and cobalt are tested by ICP-MS at accredited third-party laboratories and reported per ICH Q3D on every consignment, so your risk assessment starts with data, not assumptions.

Declarations your filings need

Nitrosamine, melamine, TSE/BSE and GMO statements are supplied with the standard documentation pack, along with kosher and halal certificates and vendor-qualification support for export and regulatory filings.

Stability and retained samples

Retained samples are held for every batch and long-term and short-term stability studies run continuously. If a question comes up months after delivery, the reference material and the data both exist.

When pharmacopoeias change

IP, BP, USP, Ph. Eur. and FCC monographs are tracked as they revise. Specifications, test methods and paperwork are updated through documented change control, and customers are notified where agreed. Trends are reviewed in the APQR.

What a DC granule is

A direct-compression granule flows and compresses on a tablet press without wet granulation. Rhine roll-compacts magnesium carbonate, oxide and hydroxide in-house with no binder and no additive — the label declares the salt, nothing else.
